A Chevron Stenciled Little Girl’s Bedroom Makeover
Good morning, my DIY mamas! Cutting Edge Stencils hopes everyone had a fun-filled 4th of July! Raise your hands if you agree that kids these days seem to grow up so fast. We thought so! It seems like just yesterday you were painting the nursery and now they’re ready to move into a big kids room. Well the good news is a drastic room makeover is not necessary just because your little dumpling is not so little. Sometimes all it takes is slight decor modifications to ease the transition. Let’s take a look as a little girl’s bedroom is transformed into a big girl’s bedroom.

Adorable, isn’t it? This sweet room belonged to her adorable little girl, who is still adorable but not so little anymore. Erin’s daughter was getting older and as she grew, she also needed her room to grow with her. The biggest reason for the room update was that her daughter wanted to have friends sleepover, but with the bed positioned as it was above, her options were limited. So Erin decided it was time for a mini-makeover. She wanted to keep many elements of the room the same, and just add some “big girl” touches. First she kept her gorgeous accent walls, which were painted in Kwal Paint’s Skylight, a soft turquoise, and then stenciled using our Chevron Allover Stencil. She also kept the trendy pink accent color. She did purchase a daybed from Pottery Barn, some additional storage, and hand crafted new window treatments.
